The aim of the scalable modularization concept described here is to define the principles and criteria for free combining and meaningful structuring of teaching or training content into sub-structures called EduBricks. The EduBricks define the smallest possible teaching content packages and separate them from the teaching path (EduPath). As a result, teaching material is not intrinsically determined by the didactic concept, but rather a framework. This framework is flexibly filled with a modular content offering according to the needs of the audience and the individual style of the trainers. The targeted modularization is intended to enable flexible combinability as well as easier maintenance and expandability of teaching content through a high degree of granularity. Granular modules can be designed without significant overlap, allowing for asynchronous division of labor even over longer periods of time. Such a resource based on EduBricks goes far beyond a collection of content and materials. It enables the structured provision of courses in the form of a modular system, which facilitates teaching-as-a-service.
